Ice skating in Australia was opened for the first time in 1904, with the opening of the Glaciarium in South Australia in September 6th of the same year. Preceding this there was some activity of ice skating in Australia which was mainly involved with the means to make a supportable ice surface. It is worth mentioning that the invention of roller and ice skate traces its roots to Tasmania in the year 1886.This was further followed by the invention of ice-skating surfaces in 1888 and 1889.However in the year 1903,a Scot named Mr. .Dundar Poole arrived in Adelaide in search of a group with interest in Ice- Skating.
