In Gattaca we see that Valids, those that have been genetically engineered, have a sense of superiority towards In-Valids, those born naturally. We see very clear scenes in the movie where In-Valids have been persecuted against due to the circumstances of their birth, which was something they had no control over. There are many moments when we see this prejudice, from very early in the movie, and almost all the way to it's completion. From the moment Vincent was born, he and his entire life was almost mapped out on a piece of paper. Everything from his chances of contracting diseases, how he will operate cognitively, and even when he is most likely to die. Vincent is immediately pigeonholed, and from that moment on, declared one who is seen
