Alternative Analysis The best alternative strategy for Interface
would be to focus on customer service by offering to rent out the
individuals once they have gained the skills needed to be
successful in a job setting, similar to Michigan Works or Man
Power. Focusing on a services that is different from the current
focus would produce new revenue. Companies would receive a tax
break when they utilized Interfaces employee pool. The staff at
Interface would support the individuals for as long as needed to
help them achieve success in the community job setting. If the
individuals do well at the assigned job location, it would build
both community and new customers as people will start talking about

If Interface
cannot bill Medicaid there would be no reason for continuing with
the remainder of the action plan. Locating a building or land to
build an appropriate building by December, 2016 in Grand Rapids, MI
would be the next step to opening Interface. The ideal building
would already have the restaurant equipment installed. If this is
not available, Interface would like to open the retail store area,
while the restaurant is being completed. This would offer the
individuals an opportunity to begin
learningbusiness strategies, while making some money in the
process. Once the restaurant is ready to open we would bring on
board a few paid employees, who would begin to train the
individuals in their desired job choice. There would be two
professional cooks on staff to prepare the food and teach the
individuals food safety and other techniques prior to them having

Interface will
establish their presence in the community first and build a loyal
customerbase.
Then we will hopefully be able to grow and offer these other
services to the community. Interface will then be able to hire
additional staff/job couches to train and teach more job skills to
the individuals with disabilities. Interface will only hire the
staff needed to sustain, as they grow more positions will be
offered. Interface would also like to offer full-time positions in
the future as funds
