Additionally, both the state and federal governments are supposed to work hand inhand, but there have been various issues and challenges to the structure.Some of the challenges facing the cooperation between state governments and thefederal government are the implementation of policies and newly enacted laws. Such laws andpolicies include border control, gun laws, immigration, education, and healthcare, amongothers. For instance, conservative states such as Texas are opposed to some enacted laws suchas same-sex marriage. Although the Supreme Court ordered all the states to comply with theruling that same-sex marriages should be allowed, sections of the sates are still opposed to thelaw.
