The term to be sucking the life out of something comes from a mythical creature called a vampire. The original vampire, Dracula, drunk the blood of his victim and then the victim would turn into a vampire. This new vampire would be allergic to the sun and could only drink blood. This created hysteria and made people worry. It also made a lot of sayings including sucking the life out of someone. In today's world, sucking the life out of someone means that you are making them bored of what you are doing. You may seem very tired or bored when someone or something has sucked the life out of you. Some people that you dont like can suck the life out of you. You put all of your energy into hating or despising them all day, when you can be making
