fish off of his old beat up skiff he was able to secretly save up
for so at the age of 15 he bought his own boat for 300 dollars that
he had to borrow and he decided to join the oyster pirates and do
the best he can in hopes to make a decent living. This new job that
he ventured into soon started to give Jack the ability to help
himself and his family finically even though it was an illegal line
of work. He also considered this line of work raw naked, wild and
free. After a while Jack London eventually started to reconsider
his life as an illegal oyster pirate and was seeking solitude by
going to the library to have reading sessions with Miss Coolbirth
his literary
mother. At the
library with Miss Coolbirth is where he was getting more
satisfaction in life. He would rather be reading his books at the
library with Miss Coolbirth then going out and working an illegal
job as an oyster pirate. One-day Jack London had a very scary near
death experience that had made a huge impact on his life and would
later be an inspiration on some of his short stories he will later
