1. Participants
were played a short emotional story. The story describes an
affective state creating an emotion. The participant was asked if
they understood the concept of the story and the intended emotion
within it.
2. Participants were then played two vocalisation sounds, one
of those being a distracting vocalisation whilst the other was of
the same category as the intended
emotionin the
story. The sounds were produced by 2 females and 2 males in an
echoic chamber.
3. After listening to the vocalisations, participants were
then asked which of the two vocalisations matched the intended
emotion within the story.
4. Results were consolidated based on the chosen
vocalisations by all participants.
