One example is when the Pew research survey reported “members of the silent and Boomer generations spent almost twice the amount of time following the news as Millennials” (Avid Weekly). This shows how Millennials may have the sources to find the news, but they choose not to and let other generations who never really even had the sources are more informed than MIllennials. This also shows how Millennials are not more informed because the Silent and Boomer generation is way more informed than Millennials and that is that they don’t even have the sources that Millennials have. Another example of how Millennials are not more informed that other generations is when “So does social media keep Millennials informed as newspapers kept generations informed? Well, it does allow people to become more informed if they choose to use it that way” (Avid Weekly). This shows how generations before Millennials got informed with newspapers and other sources besides social media and now that Millennials have the electronics and social media they still choose not to be more informed. This also shows how social media could be a source of news, but the way Millennials see social media is all about friends and getting likes and having the most followers not looking up the news.
