Completing this
project hasn't deviated my choice to become a counselor once so
ever. I recognized the time and dedication I would need to put
forth. I connect with this profession because I leaned on my
counselors throughout high school. After recognizing how much I was
helped I wanted to give back to other students. In my opinion, the
pros outweighed the cons considerably and made my decision easy.
When dealing with children who are emotionally or physically abused
it will be heartbreaking to listen to their stories. On the other
hand, if I truly become an amazing counselor, I will be there for
emotional support. I will be dedicated to helping all children who
need someone in their corner to stand up for them and what's right.

In addition to
talking to Mrs. Meyer, I did some research on my own. I was excited
to learn about the salary and job outlook for the next several
years. Experienced counselors are not only sought after but a
much-needed tool for children who need guidance. Although I'm
determined to become a guidance counselor, it was reassuring to
know how many other options there were. Nowadays counselors are
working in hospitals, retirement homes, schools, or opening their
own practices. With more
education, I
would love to become a licensed psychologist one day. I think the
hardest part of being a counselor would be communicating with the
students. I will need to work on becoming more outspoken and less
reserved and quiet. This aspect of the job almost made me change my
mind because it's so essential. I will also need to work on my
multitasking skills because numerous things could be going on at
once. In my opinion, making the conscious decision to become a
counselor is a serious commitment. I would be an outstanding
