Three major hazards have been produced from past eruptions. - Tephra deposit; felt thousands of miles away and many feet deep in close proximity to the volcano - Pyroclastic Flows; - Lahars; Damaged the White Chuck, Suiattle, Sauk Rivers, North Fork Stillaguamish, Skagit Rivers, and the sea. Tephra Deposits - With the large tephra deposits that occur from these eruptions, people could be injured and buildings can be damaged. -Tephra can be deposited thousands of miles away depending on the weather conditions. - The tephra and ash can cause air and transport problems in nearby towns. Pyroclastic Flows - Very hot flows from the eruption that destroy wilderness and nearby towns. They leave deposits that build up with each flow. Lahars
