What if life
contributed to no meaning and the only point which matters is the
existence happening during the present? To make things worse, as
humans live, they breath, but as they die a salvation is received
to their soul, and their existence is over. The Stranger by Albert
Camus illustrates that the human soul exists in the world
physically, therefore the presence or absence does not contribute
to any particular event in life. Through, this thought the novel
introduces Meursault, who alienates himself from society. He lacks
concern for social conventions and is deprived of the physical
bounding from people around him. Camus portrays that Meursault is
apathetic towards his connection with others, which leads to his

that he lacks empathy from personal and social level.Meursault is a
simple man who lives his life in a stickler type and changes annoy
him. As the novel introduces Meursault mother being dead, he shows
lack of concern and a burden to visit his mother for the last time.
Maman died today...I dont know
everything will have a more
official feel (Camus 3). As the story was set to place in 1946,
where World War two occurs,

pretty normal. But left individuals to think whether death is the
fact that humans cannot escape because people are inescapable of
the fact of life. Which relates back to Meursault, because his
emotions are complicated to understand as he does not mourn for his
mother, but is calm and lifeless. He shows that one person going
away does not have a dramatic change because he moved on quickly
the next day to enjoy the beach. But the relationship he has with
Marie shows that he cannot give women a healthy relationship.

Meursault lacks
the excitement and does not live life on the edge. Although, he
seems like an honest man, when Raymond was hitting his mistress,
and Marie wanted Meursault to get a
policeofficer
his reaction to her wish seem absurd. ...go find a police
officer...I dont like police officers(Camus 36).If Meursault
believed to have a simple life and living with honesty, he should
have been able to realize that Raymonds physical behavior was
cause harm to another lady. Also, he is unable to differentiate
between moralities, because as soon he denies helping helpless
women in agony, his honesty is questioned. Due to the fact he can
do the exact violence on Marie and question her character.
Furthermore, Meursaults ability to identify right and wrong is
gone as soon as he pulls the trigger. He does not like a police
officer, but yet he murders an Arab man. ...trigger gave...I fired
four more times at the motionless body... the door of
unhappiness(59). As the body is lying motionless he loses his mind
and morality. As he gave the first shot of the bullet he is
automatically declared dead because he does not wish to have an
association with police officers, but shooting four more times
shows that his fear does not reside in him anymore. Humans still
live, as long as they fear, but they die the minute they are
carefree because their souls have received salvation
