Love is a topic that has taken over today’s world. From music to movies, everything is now based on the love and relationships between people. However, Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, which is arguably the most famous love story in the world, could also be seen as a warning against love. The play Romeo and Juliet shows how platonic and romantic lovecan cause tragedy.
First of all, platonic love caused tragedy in Romeo and Juliet. One of the ways platonic love lead to tragedy was through the love and loyalty between Romeo and his best friend, Mercutio.
