History and
Development of Boy Scouts.
The History of boy scouts starts way back in the 1900s as
British Baden Powell develops an organization in attempt to develop
young men into war ready adults at the age of 18. As the world
change, so did the Boy Scouts, from being brought to American to
the founding of smaller branches and achievements for the scouts.
Not only was development of the boy scouts began, the history of
achievements grew within the Boy Scout association, to hitting 1
Million Scouters, 5 million scout handbooks, Presidential invites,
to even celebrating their 100th anniversary. In the early 1900s
Robert Baden-Powell a British Hero for his 217 day defence Mafeking

In 1924 it
became possible for the mentally and physically challenged scouts
to begin to earn rewards throughout scouting. Also in 1924 the Lone
Scouts of America join with the Boy Scouts of America making the
two organizations unified and larger. Then finally in 1927 Eagle
Palms were added to the list of possible achievements after the
rank of Eagle for those scouts willing to go above and beyond to
achieve what others havent. In the 1930s the Cub Scout program is
officially launched as a younger part of the Boy Scout process
giving the chance and opportunity to kids under the age of 13 to
joins Scouts. In 1934 the Order of the Arrow finally becomes an
official branch of boy scouts for those nominated to be challenged
in the most heinous tasks. In 1935 landmark achievements for the
Boy Scouts of America association reached a total of 1 million
members and printed out their 5 millionth copy of the boy scout
handbook. Also in the 1930s the first World Jamboree is held in
Washington D.C. per invite of Mr. President himself, Franklin
Roosevelt. And then from the 1940s till the end of the Cold War,
Boy scouts were called to join the military, help with war efforts
by beginning recycling campaigns, plant victory gardens, become
part of the workforce to help fight against the current enemy, as
well as to distribute pledge cards and war bonds to their community
to help rationalize the food for the current war
