For the last 50 years, there have been three generations in a work place. Baby boomers, Generation X, and Generation Y. Each of these three generations bring significant influences to the work place especially to organizational leaders. First generation are the Baby Boomers. According to the video (2008), baby boomers are those born from 1846 to 1964. Boomers tend to work their way up positions at their work place. This causes baby boomers to keep their jobs for life; resulting in working longer while retiring later. Next is the Generation X, born from 1965 to 1980. Generation X are loyal to their work, stay working at the same job for years, they get promoted within the same company. Causing them to work for the same company all their life.
