America has
seemed to always have contentious relations with the rest of the
world in concerning their reaction to international affairs and an
overinflated sense of nationalism. With the terrorist attack of
9/11, not many seem to mention the attacks that happened before
that signaled the hate for America. The bombing of the World Trade
Center in 1993 and the attack of the USS Cole highlighted events in
which it brought to light the planned attacks against

States. Some may say that the Americans should have expected
this reaction as there were events that happened before that
signaled a rise in anti-American idealism. It is no secret that
America has great enemies. It is a known fact that can be shown
throughout history and even more into recent years. The cause
behind such hatred is the fact that the presidents who have been
elected have opted lately to intervene in international affairs
that would not have

When they
polled if the Americans were right in their fear, some countries
thought it was absurd how scared they were (Doc F). The first Bush,
Clinton, and the second Bush all knew the possibility that groups
powered by radical Muslims were on the rise that when the attack on
9/11 happened, it was horrific but it was almost to be expected at
this point (Doc C). For the president to believe that the best
course of action was to start a war because of this led to an
occupation of Afghanistan that should not have happened in the
first place and instead encouraged a rise in
terrorism(Doc
D and E). America reacted, in a way, that perpetuated the growing
fear of terrorism and making it over inflated rather than handling
it quietly (Doc G). The United States did not prepare for these
attacks even though there were events that gave them insight to
growing hate for the country and the ideals
surrounding
