Gatsby is a novel written by the author F. Scotts Fitzgerald in
1925. But the story is based in 1922 this book is mainly about a
man named Jay Gatsby. His life story is told to us by a man named
Nick Carraway. Nick rents a small house right next to Jay Gatsbys.
Its located in the West Egg area of Long Island New York. Carraway
soon comes to find out that Gatsby is a very mysterious man that is
known for throwing the most extravagant parties. He then reconnects
with his cousin Daisy Buchanan and her husband Tom Buchanan. They
introduce Nick to Daisy's best friend Jordan Baker. Baker proceeds
to tell him more about Buchanans marriage, and how he is having an

Jordan is very different from Daisy Buchanan. She is a professional golfer, who does not like relationships; she likes to use men for attention. She also doesn't get into relationships so she isnt tied, making her very independent. Because she is a professional golfer she makes a lot of money and everyone knows her. This also puts her higher on the status board. We soon learn from the help of Nick Carraway (Narrator of the novel) that Jordan actually cheats not only in her job/ career but in a way to others as well. Jordan goes so far that she actually cheats in her golf tournaments so she is able to stay in the professional league and gain her money to maintain her wealth. She also in a way cheats on others by telling lies and spreading gossip to keep even more of the attention on her. She does this a lot through the book. Since she does this more often to Nick, she is really able to tell Nick many things since he is new to town and is trying to learn more about his neighbor Gatsby. Shes kind of like the person to go to if you want to learn more about someone. But it might not all be true. Jordan Baker is both narcissistic and materialistic because she uses people for information to make her more popular and she also cheats on her job to keep her wealth and make her
