The Versailles Treaty was signed to provide lasting international peace between European nations (Perry, 2013). The treaty granted international peace in the following ways. Germany was required to surrender sovereignty over all the former colonies. The colonies were put under League of Nations mandate under the control of the Allied states. The Treaty brought military restrictions thereby facilitating international disarmament. The treaty encouraged the German army demobilization limiting the number of soldiers to less than ten thousand German men. Military schools that were for officer training were limited to three. Paramilitary forces were prohibited. Germanywas prohibited from importing and manufacturing aircrafts or related equipment
