In the story Fleur, written by Louise Erdrich, the narrator of the story, Pauline, locks the men in the freezer by putting an iron bar in front of the door. The most obvious reason that Pauline locks the men in the freezer is because she is trying to prove that she has just as much power as the men do in the story, even though it is not confrontational.
