The Legend of Zelda
The Legend of Zelda(NES) is a high fantasy action-adventure
video game series created by Japanese game designers Takashi Tezuka
and Shigeru Miyamoto. It was developed and published by Nintendo.
The main platforms associated with this game include: Game boy,
Nintendo64,
Gamecube, Wii, and the Nintendo Entertainment System.
The
Legend of Zeldaplots centers on a boy named Link whose goal is
to collect the eight fragments of the Triforce of Wisdom in order

Now as for the
titular name, it was derived from the great Zelda Fitzgerald. For
those who are not familiar, she was a free-spirited individual and
the wife of legend F. Scott Fitzgerald, creator of The Great
Gatsby. Link, the main character in The Legend of Zelda was
inspired by Peter Pan, because Miyamoto wanted his protagonist to
be recognizable by the audience. The Legend of Zelda takes place in
a medieval Western Europe inspired fantasy land, called Hyrule. The
game itself is so simple, that anyone could start playing. The user
controls Link, a boy on a quest, placed on a huge map with a
mission to assemble the triforcce. It was the perfect exploitation
of a players urge to explore. Although the simplicity of the game
was obscure in some ways. There were no arrows to point you to the
correct direction, nor was there direction on what to do next. The
developer, for this particular game intend the player to take the
critical path. The critical path is the shortest way to pass
through a level without using cheats, shortcuts, or secrets.
Optional rooms branch off from the critical path and as a result
the player is rewarded with bonuses. Overall, the levels have

In the Legend
of Zelda, the sword less speed running game completely
transformed the game. Sword less speed running is played by
gamers who yearn for a challenge its a normal run, except that you
cant use a sword throughout the game until you encounter, Gannon.
Gannon cannot be killed without a sword, unlike the other enemies
in the game who can be killed using a bomb, candles, wands, and
boomerangs. This is the fastest strategy to complete the game,
because you are not focused in killing the enemies, but rather on
dashing through levels as fast as possible. The sword less
community defied the instructions of the developers, because the
sword was intended to be used throughout the game. This community
believed that the normal rules were too easy and as a result made
their own rules to enhance the challenge and fun aspects of the
game. Nevertheless, this community exploited the game because they
found a way to surpass this rule. Yes, the primary objective is to
find a weapon but that necessarily doesnt have to be the sword,
this community learned that they can utilize candles, bombs, and
arrows to use against enemies. Players who perform speed runs often
record their attempts, these recordings entertain others, verify
