The main campus
of Xavier University is located in Cincinnati, Ohio and is the
sixth-oldest Catholic university in the nation and was the first
Catholic college in the northwest territory. This college has an
average acceptance rate and is a private, nonprofit institution.
Established in 1831, XU was originally a men's
universitycalled The Athenaeum The name was changed in 1840 to
honor the Saint Francis Xavier. Now, it is home to a diverse, co-ed
population of students with varying religious beliefs and from a
wide variety of backgrounds. In fact, the campus has a dedicated
interfaith office where students gather to discuss one of over 15
religions with other students of the same faith.
With a large, 190-acre campus, it offers housing in the form
of four residence halls dedicated to housing undergraduates and a
new set of four residential towers that house sophomores, juniors,
and seniors. Aside from the new towers, the campus is made up of
six educational buildings in total that are all designed to look
like castles. The buildings include the residential hall, Hinkle
hall, Logan hall, Albers hall, Lidner hall, and Schott hall. Each
is dedicated to a specific learning department, aside from the
residential hall and Schott hall, which is the home of the
financial aid center, admissions department, and four smaller
educational departments.

Freshman can
park on-campus, which is a perk some other colleges can't provide
due to parking space limitations. All students who opt to eat in
the dining hall also have gluten-free and vegetarian options to
suit their dietary needs or
