This paperexamines the reporting of the rescue mission of the twelve Thai boys who were trapped in amuddy cave. The twelve boys together with their coach went missing on 23 rd of June 2018when their parents reported the missing. The search mission began on 24th June and traced ina cave where the rescue mission commenced. The rescue mission involved police, localauthorities as well as local and foreign cave divers and rescue experts. Despite the fact that allthe 12 boys and their twenty-five years old coach were rescued from the trap after 17 days ofdarkness in the cave, it is not yet clear how the monsoon rains influenced their fall into themuddy cave trap.
