The individual
that was selected was a single parent female that utilize social
service in the areas of Human Services, Redevelopment and Housing
(HUD Program), and Virginia Department of Health. The participants
likes and grievances were aired in the needs assessment, so that
programs can be developed that will fill the gap in services that
are deficient in meeting her needs. Social services received
through human services are Snap benefits, Medicaid, and Temporary
Assistance for Needy Families(TANF). Services rendered through
Redevelopment and housing consist of Housing Choice Voucher Program
(Section 8), Utility Assistance, and Public Housing. Virginia

All of her and
her childrens medications are not covered by Medicaid, and there
is a thirty-day waiting period for benefits when a recertification
is missed. The participants grievance with Redevelopment housing
are the one to five year waiting list for service. Her utility
assistance is not enough for monthly utilities, and the annual
inspection of occupied dwelling. With the Virginia department of
health, she finds that her WIC (Women, infant, and children)
benefits exhaust before month is out, and there are a limited
number of car seats available, and limited number of clients seen
daily in Virginia department of
