Learning Outcomes: In completion of this assessment, you will

â€¢ Demonstrate an understanding of the conceptual models of HRD, and explain the associations between HRD and various other aspects of HRM and how HRD strategies can potentially contribute to achieving overall organisational goals in different national and organisational contexts.
â€¢ Analyse and critically assess the role and influence of power and politics in HRD policy and practice in a range of contexts, and how to work effectively and collaboratively with key partners and stakeholders. Demonstrate an ethical and professional approach to HRD with a commitment to equality of opportunity and diversity and to continuous professional development.
Threshold standards In order to pass the assessment you will need to:
â€¢ Evaluate the notion of strategic HRD, the nature and content of organisational policies and strategies for HRD and explore the relevant contextual factors (e.g. economic, social, cultural, sectoral and organisational) and stakeholder issues that might influence HRD policy and practice.
â€¢ Analyse an organisational setting to develop and plan HRD interventions to address a particular operational issue, and examine the criteria for selection and design of HRD solutions.
â€¢ Design and propose appropriate HRD plans and programmes with a range of formal and informal learning and development interventions and methods to resolve current issues. Â
Produce a business report for the council that includes the following:
1. A critical analysis of the contextual issues surrounding training and development for the lunch supervisors highlighted in the case study using relevant academic literature for support.
2. A proposal for a set of recommendations that seeks to resolve some of these issues. This should include details of a training plan for the lunch supervisors and also consider ways to overcome the potential barriers to training.
