briefly in my introduction post, I currently work for the State of
Rhode Island, Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental
Disabilities and Hospitals which is known throughout the state as
BHDDH for short. I work in the program for Adults with Mental
Disabilities and Special
Division of RICLAS (Rhode Island Community Living and Support). Our
responsibility is to service Rhode Island residents with special
health care needs and provide them with living in a group home or a
special care facility environment. The quality expectations are
consistency, eliminating waste, doing it right the first time,
delighting and pleasing not only the clients but their families as
well and total client service and satisfaction. How is this done?
By assuring the homes that our clients are living in are ran
properly by either the care from a community living assistant,
which are certified nurses assistant, respite nurses, dieticians,
and to assure that the proper functionality and maintenance of the
group homes or special care facilities are up to code.
I was hired to be the finance manager for the 30 state homes. Properties located throughout Rhode Island. Basically, any and all work that was performed in the home needed to be audited and invoices needed to show more content
The home supervisors that do not work in the homes but just take the calls from the homes were responsible for the quality of service, however, many employees pitched in here and there to get the homes what they needed and many times either work that needed to get done fell through the cracks because of misunderstandings or work was duplicated for example: the ordering of medical supplies and or materials, or requests that was supposed to be directed to capital projects never was
