Throughout the play The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity,
stereotypes are being promoted through the main characters.The
first example is shown in the beginning of the play. Chad Deity is
known as the champion and is the epitome of what you picture a
wrestler to be. He’s big and muscular, money, jewels and a large
fan base who supports him. When Chad first enters the ring he has a
champion belt around his waist and is throwing dollar bills like
it’s an every day occurrence. This entrance not only sets the tone
for what a “typical” wrestler should look or act like but it has a
deeper meaning. It shows the culture stereotypes that are present
in American Society. Another example is shown through the character
Vigneshwar Paduar, known as VP. VP is an Indian-American male who
described his entrance music as Bollywood love song, instead of the
typical rap or hype music that plays when they enter the ring. When
VP was first talked about, Mace referred to him as “This tall,
