According to
the lesson, from the perspective of social responsibility business
ethics expresses values, norms, and expectations that reflects
concerns of major stakeholders, including consumers, employees,
shareholders, suppliers, competitors, and the community. The
product that I have chosen from Monsantos history to discuss is
Round Up.
Before we talk about RoundUp, lets discuss corporate
governance which adopts a broader view of the purpose of
business,
although a company has a responsibility for economic success which
includes employees, suppliers, government regulators, communities
and special interest groups with which it interacts. Companies must
determine which of these stakeholders are primary, or should I say
which of these stakeholders the company should pay more attention
to when focusing on the perspective and interests of decision
making when it comes to the company.
A company must understand the nature and main issues of
concern of the primary stakeholders.

According to
farmer Brandon Whitt, farming is not suited for a corporate
environment, he stated that he has to have the ability to make a
decision and do it in a timely matter. He further stated that he
and his family are the ones living on the farm, and see and know
what goes on at the farm. Whitt says that waiting for a
managementdecision is not good for reasonable for him
(Monsanto.com).
Monsanto believes that everyone needs to do their part to
help the Environment, whether it is finding a way to reuse water or
recycling. The company states that they are committed to finding
ways to use resources more efficiently. In the year 2014 they took
a good look at the amount of waste they produced, and in the same
year they shipped or composted 314,000 metric tons of materials
from all of their
