Alan Cranston was born 19 June 1914 in Palo Alto, California. In Cranstons early year he grew up in his hometown of Palo Alto. Through his teenage years he attended Mountain View High School. Cranston participated in many activities like the school newspaper, yearbook, and sports. Once he graduated, Cranston attended Pomona Collegefor a year in California. Then for one summer he took classes at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. After he summer courses he enrolled at Stanford University. Cranston finished off with a Bachelor degree in English.
