Brutality Police brutality is a growing problem all around the
world. Although we may only hear of certain similar situations that
go on in the United States, Police brutality is happening all
around the world. This problem seems to have been around for a
while now. Police brutality has been defined as, the unwarranted
or excessive and often illegal use of force against civilians by
U.S.
PoliceOfficers.
There are many forms of
Police
Brutality, such as harassment (false arrest), intimidation, and
verbal abuse. Although Police Officers do have to use force to
carry out necessary duties, force can be used only in a manner
that meets standards of reasonableness. In October 15, 1966, a
group of African Americans came together to form a group named the
Black
Panther Partyto stop this cruel abuse of power (BBP
Britannica). The Black Panther Party, originally named Black
Panther Party for Self-Defense, is an African American
revolutionary party (BBP Britannica). This party was founded in
Oakland, California in 1966 by Huey Newton and Bobby Seale. Their

The media has
portrayed Officers in a new light. Rather than protective
guardians, they are now unstable, power-fueled workers of the law.
It is their choice what they will do with the duty of enforcing the
law. Anyone can fall victim to Police Brutality. However, Americas
social and economic society is improving at an alarming rate.
America is at a time now where peaceful protests and the like are
promoted, while aggressive out lashes, unlawful activities, and
excessive force is frowned upon. The economy today is a result of
the hard work of ancestors who protested and ensured a better
future. In the future, it is possible that Officers will no longer
be stereotyped as abusive, or unlawful. A united front is required
for this future, where there are no more sides, violence,
